Bed Bugs Eradication – A Challenge for All

Many of us are suffering from sleepless nights, tired days and itching all the time. But still, they don’t even know that what’s the actual problem? The need of hour is to be educated about this rapidly growing problem. For this purpose, we have to be properly aware about this tiny winy creature known as bed bugs who are the major cause for this entire dilemma. It’s really tough to fight against bed bug bites these days. But it can be controlled if proper methods are adopted for bed bugs cure and professionals are hired to eradicate bed bugs.

Bed bugs, scientifically known as Cimex Lectularius have a very high rate of reproduction and this is due to their characteristic to stay survive in moderate temperature and without any food for more than a year. Bed bugs love to hide themselves in crevices and holes in the walls and wooden furniture. These crevices provide them best place to lay eggs. Three to twelve eggs can be laid by female bed bug in a day. An average of 7 eggs a day is a big figure which is alarming and challenging to get rid of bed bugs. Eggs generally hatch in almost 12 days. Bed bug’s life cycle consists of five stages- from new born nymph to an adult bed bug - which can be differentiated on the basis of its size and formation of exoskeleton. First stage larva is just of 1.5 mm long which gets a size of 4.5 mm after increasing .5 mm in size at every new stage in its life cycle. Newly born bed bugs need to feed on human flesh and if they will not get blood in adequate quantity, they will die. Bedbugs also shed their exoskeleton many times in their life span.

Bed bugs are also known as bed-mites, red-coats, wall louse, mahogany flat, crimson rambler, heavy dragon, chinche, and nightmares. But word ‘Bed Bug’ is more common because they love to hide themselves in mattresses, corners and crevices in bed and attack their host at night while sleeping. Bed bugs have two hollow feeding tubes; one tube is to inject its saliva, which contains anesthetics to benumb the skin of their host, and the other is to suck blood of its host. Almost five minutes are required by a bed bug to feed on, returns to its hiding place and give chance to others to enjoy their meal.

Bed bug infestation can be identified if you have very small blood spots on your bed sheets; brownish dust like exoskeleton on and under your bed mattress; clusters of bedbugs around your mattress and other areas like curtains, under photo frames etc.

Bed bug infestation is increasing day by day as big cities are now providing big habitats to bed bugs with favorable environment for them. Many houses, offices and even hospitals are under their attack. So, it’s a challenge for all pest control organizations to control the pandemic bedbugs especially in European countries. Domestic as well as commercial treatments for bed bugs are required on urgent basis and to achieve the target to eradicate bedbugs at a maximum. People should also play their role and inform the team of specialists as soon as possible if they are facing this problem. Many pest control organizations are offering 24/7 services to their clients as they are all time ready to fight against bedbugs just to give comfort to their clients within their homes and offices. In other words, it’s a duty of every individual to play his/her own part to get rid of Bed Bugs.
